{ layered mirrors }

It was beyond time to dust in our bedroom...so you know what that means...time to move a few things around!  Just thought I'd share these pictures and my thoughts on mirrors.  You can never have too many mirrors.  In our past smaller homes - which were also dark - mirrors really helped to make things seem bigger and reflected light.  I always look for mirrors at yard sales and thrift stores - look for really cool frames that can be painted or distressed and mirrors with interesting shapes.  I have also found some great bargains at stores like Home Goods and Marshals.  In our bedroom I decided to layer a few different ones to create interest.

Here is a sneak peak at a new loveseat for our vintage rentals.  It is a little love nest of champagne velvet!

{ michelle and kyle } june 14

We loved being out at Wolf Lakes Park in the Garden this past week for Michelle and Kyle's wedding.  Michelle chose a really pretty palette of greys with shades of yellow and white.  It was so fresh and pretty.

White silk pomander balls working wonderfully out doors in our summer heat.  They look so pretty when combined with grey ribbons and white organza draped down the aisle.

{ sidewalk art } june 2013

I just had to share this little gem.  After stepping out of my flower shop, with no one around, I found this on my sidewalk.  And I knew right away who had made it!  Our daughter Mary was born with a stylist's eye! She is very creative.  I love seeing how children develop; celebrating what flows out of their hearts!  A collected gun shell, almonds and reed become a dragon fly of course!

Looking for a fun summer project with your kids?  Take small paper lunch bags out on a walk around your neighborhood or along the trail...collect unique items in nature...at home use paper plates or colored paper...using your imagination create works of art using your collections.  Photograph your art and hang in the kids bedroom...it will remind you of some summer fun!

"...her children stand and bless her." Proverbs 31:28  I was so blessed to find this little piece of art.

{ ashlyn and kyle } june 15

Ashlyn and Kyle were married in the foothills east of Clovis at Ashlyn's Grandparents home. The ceremony was out under one of the big Oak trees just east of their house and their reception was in their very cool party barn!

We created soft country chic arrangements in the family's old milk cans….these looked wonderful lining the aisle - guests sat on burlap covered hay bales and old wooden pews.

Ashlyn's bouquet was created using four different roses; cream cabbage roses, champagne "Sahara" roses, cream "Vendella" roses and champagne spray roses.  Bouquet styled on our newest champagne velvet love seat couch.

{ heather and marcel } may 25

Can you say super cute?  I loved loved loved making this bouquet...i snatched up a bit of mint from my garden to add a touch of sweet scent to Heather"s garden bouquet.  She and Marcel, who hails from Germany, were so lovely to work with.  Heather and Marcel were wed out at 3 Oaks Vineyard.

{ jen and micah } june 8

The heat was on last weekend as Jen and Micah said, "I Do!"  Not only was Jen smokin' hot in her gorgeous champagne tinted dress but so was the Valley heat!  The temperature reached 109 degrees but, out at 3 Oaks Vineyard, this lovely couple was surrounded by their loyal family and besties.  We braved the heat to bless them with some sweet blooms - centerpieces were set out just as the groomsmen walked down the aisle.

Another lovely cake by one of my favorite "sweet spots" Frosted!

{ jordana and jared } june 1

It is so fun to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful families.  I am so blessed to play a small role in creating gorgeous weddings.  Each wedding is unique and special not because of all the "stuff", but because of how families lovingly bring all the details to light.  For Jordana, we created arrangements using white flowers with a touch of light pink.  We used lots of wooden boxes with touches of lace.

{ amy and mark } june 1

It is no small thing to bring two families together or to plan a large-scale wedding.  Amy and Mark did an amazing job creating their dream wedding - using elements that are special to them.  What more can you ask of a wedding?  The colors for Amy and Mark's wedding were ivory, eggplant, chocolate, and touches of green. Amy's bouquet also included cream dendrobium orchids - a sentimental favorite.

The bridesmaid's bouquets….

A wreath with a small floral arrangement for the garden gate entrance for the ceremony….

2 large arrangements were placed at the beginning of the isle...

We created two centerpieces for Mark and Amy - the first used our wooden boxes with floating ivory candles surrounded by lush flowers and grapes.

The second used our iron candelabras with hanging greenery and grapes.

For a rustic touch on the cake table, the cake was placed on top of some of our wooden boxes….

We added Eucalyptus leaves, wax flowers, and grapes for the head table decor….
