Dara and Jeff - April 21, 2012

As I began working with Dara on her flowers for her and Jeff's wedding she saw a photo on our blog from last year were we used herbs, artichokes and grapes in a centerpiece.  She loved it!  We had so much fun working with these different and interesting elements for Dara.  We also incorporated peonies, rannunculus and hydrangeas into her bouquet.  Spanish lavender was used along with rosemary for the boutonnieres and corsages.

The groom, Jeff, made this fun picture wall for guests to use throughout the reception.  Krysten and I having our photo taken on our way out.

Macae and Scott - April 20

I was so honored to work with Macae and Scott on their wedding flowers.  We loved working with their family on her older sisters wedding not so long ago.  White daisy's were used as a way to pay respect to her mom who used them in her own wedding.  I loved it!  We incorporated both white gerbera daisy's as well as traditional daisy poms.

Jamie and Ryan - April 7

This past weekend we were so happy to be out at Tuscan Gardens to help Jamie and Ryan celebrate their wedding.  Jamie chose dark plum with champagne, chocolate and cream accents.  For her bouquet we used white peonies, cream hydrangeas and cream "David Austen" roses.  I loved it!

Jamie's bridesmaids wore dark plum dresses and carried these monochromatic purple bouquets.
On the front lawn at Tuscan Gardens Jamie and Ryan were married under their beautiful grapevine arch - we decorated it with 3 large arrangements of cream flowers with green "Smilax" garlands.  The flowers were later used as decorations on their head table.

Our rustic candle holders were used down the isle with simple plum ribbons and candles.

Over in the reception pavilion tall vases were filled with curly willow branches, hanging crystals, plum hydrangeas and hanging green amaranthus.

Easter Flowers

Thank you to my sweet clients Paul and Bev for trusting me with their very special Easter Sunday flowers.  They provide flowers for their church on Easter and I was so honored to play a part in that tradition this year.  We incorporated natural wood boxes and cast iron urns with green and white ornamental kale along with champagne Sahara roses and white snap dragons.  It was natural yet elegant.

{ i was just looking - honest }

If you know me you know that we live out in the country and I have two preschoolers at home with me.  This means many different things...one of which is that I don't get to do "fun" shopping very often.  I had the rare treat of meeting friends for dinner this week - our restaurant was located right across the walkway from Anthropologie.  I enjoyed my time immensely with my friends but let's face it I was counting down the minutes until I got to do a little "window shopping" (inside the store of course)!  I had told my Honey that my hands were tied behind my back and that I was just looking at the displays...well...it was very unfortunate but these two gorgeous coffee cups just jumped into my hands and wanted to come home with me to live in the country...I couldn't turn them away.  I'm so thankful today for small pieces of art and for good coffee.

{ sunny window }

If you are like us a trip to France is so not in our future.  That doesn't mean however that I can't bring a bit of France to me.  Today I bought two new lavender plants for my kitchen window.  I love lavender, it reminds me of Europe and transports me to a relaxed far-away place.  At $3 each this is an affordable decoration that brightens my kitchen for months to come.

{ easter }

This is the week before Easter and a very special time for our family.  We welcome Spring and reflect on what this holiday means to us.  We thank Christ for his sacrifice and unconditional love for us.  However on a lighter note, this morning it meant cleaning the dining room.  When I am ready to "change things up" at home I pull everything off all of the surrounding surfaces in that room - clean - then begin fresh.  I also bring things that I find from other rooms that I think will work well with what I already have.

As you might guess with the name of my business I have a small collection of bunnies.  So I pulled out a few of my bunnies and also some nest's that I had collected last spring and set to work.

I found this small size glass dome recently at an antiques store in Clovis.  I put one of my smaller nest's under it with green speckled eggs.

God Bless you and your families this Easter and may you have a wonderful Spring.
